“Polka Dot Bride” Real Bride Feature

There is a lot to love about a wedding like Terri and Bryan’s Perth city farm wedding. the photos, of course, are stunning but then there is their approach to the day. The way that they planned their schedule to suit the feeling they wanted to create – something relaxed, informal and one giant party. They chose Emma Pointon Photography to capture their wedding day.

Terri tells the tale of how they came to be. “We originally met and dated in high school (high school sweethearts) but went our separate ways in our early twenties. We’ve always kept in touch with the same group of friends and knew what the other was up to, but it wasn’t until Bryan returned from Afghanistan in 2009 that we properly reconnected. From there we just knew.”

The Proposal

Dan proposed to me on the day he found the ring. At the time we had a new puppy and we walked past a jewellers on the way home from puppy school. He pointed out some beautiful antique rings. When we got home, he rang the jeweller and asked them to size one of them, then picked it up that afternoon and called by my parent’s house to ask for their blessing. All without me having a clue. That evening he clipped the ring to the dog’s collar while we were at the beach. The ring went for a rather salty swim before we thought to remove it. Dan always finds the most efficient way to do a task, no matter what it is. He doesn’t believe in wasting time!

“Hello May” Katie Grant Photography featured Styled Shoot

Captured by Katie Grant Photography, assisted by Connie Whitlock, this warm-hued ceremony was inspired by the natural coastline of Western Australia, setting the scene for this intimate wedding inspiration. Utilising a cosy, natural, rocky cove, the ceremony is tucked away from the windswept shores of WA, whilst wild florals by Katie Cooper Floral Design line the aisle and wooden benches offer seating to guests. The tablescape is rooted by blooms and brass chargers which draw from the palette of the
setting summer sun, with help from Heart Strings Hire + Style.

“Belles & Bubbles” Ethereal and Unique Beach Bridal Looks featured Shoot

I adore seeing texture as one of the elements in wedding details – it gives it a certain depth with a unique playfulness. Today I’m happy to showcase this textured wedding inspiration in Australia from one of my favorite photographers, Katie Grant. Set along a rocky shoreline with the sun giving off an ethereal glow, three unique beach bridal looks are captured to showcase the diversity in beach wedding inspiration. A beach wedding doesn’t necessarily mean a light and airy gown and this inspiration shoot shows the beauty of an atypical beach bride.

“Hello May” Through the White Door featured Shoot

Inspired by the coastal boho bride, photographer Nat Brunovs of I Heart Weddings (also featured here) and a talented crew got together to create this lovely inspiration shoot.
Going for a free-spirited vibe, the shoot played up the location using a natural colour palette with hints of bohemian beauty. Florist Ruby Tree Creative delivered the goods with one hell of a bouquet wrapped snuggly in twine and perfect for taking on the chaos of the coastline.
While the focus was on the stunning range of Rue De Seine gowns via Perth boutique Through the White Door, the bold statement jewellery sourced from Frankly My Dear and HAM Creative‘s hair and makeup expertise were truly a force to be reckoned with.

“The Bride’s Diary” Real Bride Feature

Claire met Jamin seven years ago in Fremantle where they were introduced by mutual friends. As they got to know each other, they realised that they had grown up just around the corner from one another.

Claire quickly fell in love with Jamin’s cheeky smile and his ability to make her laugh, so when he proposed in a canoe while paddling down the beautiful Franklin River, her answer was a resounding ‘yes’.

The couple decided on a timelessly elegant theme and a stunning white, cream and jacaranda toned colour palette.
